Michael graduated from the U last week. Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Math, a degree in Physics and a minor in Computer Science. Crazy impressive. His GPA is 3.97.

The keynote speaker was Ed Catmull who founded Pixar. I was starstruck. He graduated from the U with degrees in Physics and Computer Science and then got a PhD in Computer science. It was fun to hear him talk about the development of his movies. He talked about how "Up" started out as a story about a castle in the sky with a bird and they scrapped everything but the bird. Then they added the old man and something about Venezuela and magic eggs. Finally they figured out the plot that became the movie. His point was to not be afraid of making mistakes. This was a good lesson for me because I often don't start things for fear of making a mistake. Sometimes that fear paralyzes me and keeps me from creating anything.
This woman was so supportive of her graduating family member that she brought her laptop and was on Facebook the entire time. Well done madam.
Where's Waldo Part 2
So I was perfectly poised to take the picture of him as he walked across the stage to get his degree. Then, right as they called his name some old man stood right in front of me. Thus the blurry picture.
I told him that in the black robe he looked like Harry Potter. He apparently did not find this flattering.
I'm not sure what this expression means. Anger? Hunger? Fear of the future? Sleepy?
Too bad his diploma covered up The Bump.
